Nandhi Mark Samba Ravai – the beginning

In 1972, Mr. Jayaprakash started Saraswati and Co., which commenced the production of granulated wheat, under the name “Nandhi Mark”. It was a very humble beginning in a rented space of about 20 feet *20feet in Coimbatore's Ukkadam area, but today, it has gone on to build an empire for itself in this domain. After three years of relentless hard work, Saraswathi and Co. shifted to its own building in the highly commercial Thomas Street, extension of Oppanakara street, which was considered to be owned by the entrepreneurs and business organizations of that time. Thanks to the sheer hardwork of Mr. Jayaprakash, who toiled for 18 to 20 hours a day, Nandhi mark is now synonymous with granulated wheat or Samba ravai. In a period of time, when there wasn’t much technological advancement, with just his efforts as his investment, cleaning, grinding and marketing of samba ravai was done, in an exemplary manner. Quality was never compromised and he offered only the best to the public.
